The Sovol & Cura Lab1 Certificate is part of our Foundational Lab Series. It includes four stages split into two separate 1-hour classes on-site, in-person, and with one of our instructors. Upon obtaining this certificate you will have access to the FundedYouth Open Labs. With this certificate you can utilize the Sovol 3D Printers, the Cura Slicing Software on FundedYouth computers, and any approved FundedYouth 3D files.
Explore the different hardware components of a FDM 3D printer, master the art of calibrating it, and acquire the skills to produce stunning 3D objects.
Learn how to grab a 3D file online, prepare it for 3D printing, and export it to a 3D printer.
Get ready for an engaging session where we’ll delve into the four fundamental settings in Cura. Together we’ll explore the various resolution, strength, support, and adhesion settings. We’ll discuss pattern types, support types, and the benefits of using brim vs. skirt adhesion. You’ll finish this lesson by completing a hands-on 3D print challenge.
Finish out the series by testing your knowledge with our online in-person proctored exam. We use this as the final stage before you can claim your certificate.
Empowering our youth with access to industrial manufacturing tools, STEAM educational services, and on-demand manufacturing certification programs.
